In February 2011, the team planned and facilitated a VIP media event to support the Hotel Monaco Denver’s guest room renovation. As an innovative way to let media know that something big was about to happen and build anticipation, the team implemented a three-part invitation teaser campaign to local media which included creative media kits incorporating the “fish” theme, since the Hotel Monaco gives guests a gold fish upon check-in. The press kits consisted of glass fishbowls, the party invitation, goldfish crackers, Swedish fish and the customized SIGG

“I love my goldfish” water bottles. These kits were personally delivered to the top tier media.

In addition to the media invites, the team planned and executed a progressive room tour for the media highlighting community partners, businesses and organizations the Hotel Monaco works with including: The Denver Aquarium, Rockmount Ranchwear, Veda Spa and Panzano Restaurant, Over 30 top tier media contacts attended the event and as a result have already received coverage in over 40 media outlets.
